"Google and Local Sustainable Seafood Distributor Partner to Improve Traceability" -Edible Manhattan

More than 90% of seafood consumed in the US is imported, nearly 50% of seafood samples have been shown to be fraudulent, and less than 1% can accurately be traced back to the fisherman. 

Sustainable seafood pioneer Dock to Dish wants to change this. The Montauk, NY-based distributor recently announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for their newest digital fish mapping system, "Dock to Dish 2.0." Since its launch five years ago, Dock to Dish has become the world's first "restaurant-supported fishery" - a CSA-modeled approach for the local fish market.
